Ahoy there, Seth!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. You have planned one of my favorite vacation combinations—a
land and sea adventure! There is nothing quite like knowing that the magic of your
Walt Disney World Resort experience will be followed by a relaxing
Disney Cruise Line voyage. Before I start daydreaming about flippin’ my fins, let’s get to your question.
I know driving to the port with your cruise crew is convenient and lots of fun, but you will need to take both vehicles with you when you check out of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel.
Resort parking is reserved for registered Guests, and
overnight parking is not permitted at Disney Springs or the theme parks.
Fortunately, the drive to
Port Canaveral is
easy and usually takes about one hour from Walt Disney World. There is nothing like getting that first glimpse of your Disney Cruise Line ship as you approach the port; it’s like Tinker Bell followed you all the way from
Magic Kingdom Park and sprinkled more pixie dust on your vacation!
Seth, here’s some more good news. There is a super convenient
parking deck at the port operated by the Port Canaveral Port Authority located adjacent to the Disney cruise terminal. You can drop off your luggage with the stevedores (a nautical term for porters), and your other passengers if you wish, before driving into the parking deck. An elevated walkway connects the deck to the terminal so you can reunite with your party.
Reservations for the parking deck are not necessary. I appreciate that you pay when you arrive, so when you return, you simply drive out and head on your way. The garage opens at 10:15 a.m., but keep in mind your port arrival time as you plan your day.
I know you will make some pixie-dusted memories on your Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line vacation that you will cherish. As you continue to plan, please sail by again and see us here at planDisney; we are here to help!
May all your wishes come true,
Shannon
