Judy,
Yes, you can use the
Disney resort transportation system, even if you are not heading to a theme park for a magical day! None of the
buses,
boats,
monorails, or the
Disney Skyliner operate within a given park but typically drop you off just steps away from each of the park's front gates. So, no ticket is needed to use to these convenient transportation options.
My oldest teenager and I will typically spend an afternoon either gliding on the monorail or sailing in the Disney Skyliner as we do some resort hopping. We love checking out the hotel themes, and the rides to get from one resort to another are part of the fun!
BONUS TIP #1Officially the different resort transportation options will begin running 45 minutes before the relevant Disney theme park opening time, and up to 1 hour after a park's closing time. For those connecting via Disney Springs, buses will operate until 11 pm, though sometimes even later.
BONUS TIP #2Disney has been updating their bus fleet, and you will find them to be a great way to get around. Most now have USB charging ports placed throughout the bus for those cell phone battery emergencies!
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
