Hi Michelle, welcome back to planDisney!
It sounds like your daughter is about the same age as my oldest. I don't know about yours but my pre-teen thinks she's all grown up until you ask her to eat off of the adult menu! However, she certainly loves a good
Character Dining Experience and the atmosphere of many
Walt Disney World Resort dining locations, so we never want to miss them just because she might not enjoy some of the menu options.
We've found that so many Disney dining locations are willing to make substitutions or accommodations for any of our children. Once, even after Cast Members brought her favorites, my little one ate one chocolate chip cookie for dinner...and that was it! However, it's vacation, and she still remembers that special treat!
At any
quick-service dining location, your daughter is welcome to order her favorite meal, even if it is from the children's menu. When it comes to table service restaurants, you may be able to substitute some menu items with options she enjoys, just be sure to speak with the Cast Member taking your order to see what can be done. Since your daughter is a little older she will be charged the adult price of the meal at both table service and buffet or family-style dining locations.
If you haven't already made your
Advance Dining Reservations for your trip, I would highly suggest looking into
Garden Grill Restaurant at
EPCOT. This character dining experience includes some of your classic character pals such as Chip 'n' Dale, and the entire restaurant rotates very slowly as you eat, allowing you to see inside the
Living with the Land attraction while enjoying delicious food picked from the greenhouses inside the ride! Even my pickiest little one enjoyed some usual favorites like creamy mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese.
Enjoy the planning process and come back to see us again if we can help in any other way!
