Hey there, Pal!
A visit to Walt Disney World Resort and the beach in the same vacation? I like your style!
The most convenient way to reach the beach would be with your rental car. There are three rental car companies with a location on Disney property at the
Car Care Center. They are Alamo, Enterprise, and National. There is even a complimentary shuttle offered from your Walt Disney World Resort hotel to the Car Care Center to pick up your rental ride! Cruise on over to the sandy shore, enjoy a full day in the salt air, return the vehicle, and enjoy a convenient ride back to your Resort hotel for a restful night's sleep. (I always sleep like a baby after a day at the beach!)
There are two great beach locations I would recommend for you. Now, I should say that I am originally from Volusia County, so I am partial to our beaches. New Smyrna Beach is beautiful and the town has great little shops on the way to the shore. It is about 90 Minutes from Walt Disney World Resort. Another option would be Cocoa Beach, about an hour away. I am less familiar with this area, but I have heard great things!
Finally, if you would like to keep up that Salt Life energy throughout your stay at Walt Disney World Resort, consider calling
Disney's Beach Club Resort your "Home" for your vacation. Enjoy the delicious seafood options at a casual Cape May dinner, find unique seaside trinkets at Beach Club Marketplace, and top off the Best Day EVER with a scoop from
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. All of that is wonderful, but you can also keep your toes in the sand at Stormalong Bay, Disney's only sand-bottomed swimming pool!
I hope that was helpful. Enjoy your day at the beach and please remember to always swim near a lifeguard in open water! Let us know if you have any other questions, Friend! planDisney is here to help.
Adventure is out there,
Sally
