Hello! We will be going to Disney in September and we want to visit a couple table service meals. I am on a diet to lose weight and have seen the portions you get at the table services and was wondering if an adult can order off of the kids menu? Thanks!

Hi, Danielle!  I had gastric bypass, and I have never had any difficulty ordering from the children's menu at any Walt Disney World restaurant.  Just explain your situation to the server.  I have heard of others not having the same experience, but I have not yet encountered a restaurant that did not allow me to do this - as long as there is not a dining plan in place.

However, I will say, your better option may be to look at the adult menu for the appetizers, soups, and salads.  I generally find the portions are pretty substantial, and you may find things that are more appealing to an adult palate.  You can also talk about vegetarian options with any of the table service restaurants.  Some of the meals are lower in fat and calories than what you might find on the children's menu.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
