Hi Carly!
Welcome to
planDisney!
I conducted a bit of research on the reusable cutlery sets and found two items that you may be referring to. There is a
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Travel Cutlery Set available on shopDisney.com. Also, last year, Walt Disney World sold reusable cutlery for the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. This super cute cutlery set came with a knife, fork, spoon, straw, straw cleaning brush, and a cute carrying case.
With both of these sets, the primary benefit is producing less waste. Given that this is made from melamine, which is a type of plastic, this is allowed in the parks. The
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules state "Firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons of any kind are prohibited." However, a plastic cutlery knife
should be allowed. I don't anticipate this being a problem, especially since the cutlery is sold in the parks.
If you want to bring your own plastic set of cutlery, I'm sure that is fine. If you bring your own, you may want to consider just bringing a plastic spoon and fork. While I don't anticipate a problem with bringing your own dull plastic knife, there is a chance that it may not be allowed. But don't worry because there are plenty of plastic utensils in the parks and resorts. You definitely don't need to bring your own cutlery, but you can feel free to do so if you want to reduce overall waste.
While you are at the parks, make sure to check out the
50th-anniversary character collection! There are character statues in every park!
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
