All of the Disney resorts that I could afford this year were booked, so I got lodging elsewhere and I am renting a car. My question is, can I park at each individual park or do I have to go the ticket and transportation place, then be bussed 2 the parks?

If you want to get into the Magic Kingdom by auto, you need to park at the Ticket and Transportation Center. For the three other theme parks (and the water parks), you can leave your car in a lot at the individual park. No need for additional bussing.
