Hi Kevin, welcome back to planDisney!
The fun runs were a fantastic activity offered at several Disney Resort hotels if you like to start your day with a little physical activity. I was able to participate in the fun run at
Disney’s Old Key West Resort several years ago and I really enjoyed getting to see more of the resort during the run, and then afterwards my family had brunch at
Olivia’s Cafe.
At this time, the Disney Resort fun runs have not returned on a regular schedule. I think your best option is to ask the Front Desk at your Disney Resort hotel for the activity schedule for the week. I think it is a great idea to kindly let the Cast Member know that you are interested in a resort fun run, as I’m sure the feedback would be appreciated. If you’re still looking to run on your own, several Disney Resort hotels have workout facilities and some even have designated
jogging trails. My fellow panelist
Lauren M. recently shared the path she likes to run when she’s staying at a Resort hotel on the
Resort monorail loop.
When I did my first resort fun run several years ago, that is when I really learned about all of the activities that are offered at Disney Resort hotels. At most Disney Resort hotels, you can find arts & crafts, campfires, and
Movies Under the Stars. You can find a list of these activities at the Front Desk of your resort. Some resorts even have activities you can only find at that resort, such as the
Starlight Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the
Wilderness Back Trail Adventure at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
If you haven’t already, make sure you check out the
runDisney events at Walt Disney World Resort. These require advance registration, but running through the theme parks is an experience unlike any other.
Lauren M. and I are runDisney enthusiasts and would love to answer any questions you have about these events.
Please come back and
visit me again at planDisney if you have any future planning questions!
