Will Disney reserve a specified amount on a credit card at check in for incidentals or purchases made using the Magic Band. If so, how much will be held on the card?

    Hi Cheryl,

Great question about charges to the rooms. I love only wearing my Magic Band in the parks and paying my bill at the end of my trip.

Disney does not hold funds against your credit card. When you reach a certain limit on your room charges, Disney will then charge back to your credit card. The limit starts at $500 and the amount is noted at check-in.

If you want to apply a Disney Reward card or gift card to your account, simply head to the front desk prior to you reaching the limit and pay down the balance with that card. I do this regularly and have not had an issue.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
