David from NE Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Can Disney reservations (hotel and park admission tickets) be changed once the reservation is made? Are there charges that go with the change?

Hi there, David! Welcome to planDisney!

As my pal Olaf says, "some things never change." But when it comes to Walt Disney World Resort vacations, sometimes they do! I'm happy to let you know that most vacation packages can be modified online. I'd love to help you with the "next right thing!"

First, log into your account online. Hover your mouse over the My Disney Experience tab and click My Plans. Scroll down until you see your Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation and click "Change Reservation" on the right. Here, you'll be able to modify your travel dates, Disney Resort hotel, and tickets. Depending on your dates, resort, and length of stay, you may be required to pay any difference in price for your new vacation package.

You are also more than welcome to book a reservation for a new vacation package, then cancel your original reservation. When looking for new dates and resorts, sometimes you can open up a whole new world of possibilities just by shifting your dates by a day or two! Please note that cancellations and changes are best made when more than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date so you don't incur any cancellation fees.

Also, be sure to also cancel any previous Theme Park Reservations made with the Disney Park Pass system and create your new Theme Park Reservations as soon as you're able! You can even take a peek at the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to make sure that the parks you wish to visit are available.

If you're unable to modify your reservation online, or if you'd like to speak to a person directly, you'll want to reach out to one of the wonderful Cast Members. All you need to do is call (407) 934-7639 and they'll be happy to help you with your next steps! A little like real-life fairy godparents, Cast Members do their best to stretch their magic wands as far as they can reach for every Guest. If you do decide to call a Cast Member, I have two tips for you. First: try calling right when phone lines open at 7:00 AM EST since their type of magic can often be in high demand. Second: pack a little extra patience! Cast Members work hard to make every Guest's day the BEST. DAY. EVER! I'm sure a friendly voice and some extra kindness will be warmly welcomed.

David, I hope I was able to help with your question today! If anything else pops up, please visit us again. Olaf is sending you some warm hugs until you return to The Most Magical Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon!
