Hi Disney Plan Team. Can I purchase a lighting lane for a minor who has a Disney ticket, through my account (their account is linked to mine), although I am not going to park and I do not have a ticket?

Hi Rogerio! Welcome to planDisney! As a fellow parent, I know how helpful it can be to manage plans on behalf of our kids, especially when it comes to maximizing your time with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. I’m happy to help you plan out the day!

If another guest’s ticket is linked to your MyDisney account, you can absolutely purchase and manage Lightning Lane access for them, even if you don’t have a valid park ticket or reservation for that day yourself. This can be done as soon as that individual has scanned into the theme park for which they have a reservation. For example, on a recent visit, my teenage daughters wanted some solo time in the parks. I went about my own in Disneyland, but I still managed their Lightning Lane selections right from my phone while they enjoyed their day. It worked seamlessly!

Just a heads-up: unless that guest has both a MyDisney account and the Disneyland app downloaded on their own mobile device, you’ll be the one managing their Lightning Lane selections for the entire day. Since the Disneyland app is the only way to make Lightning Lane reservations, it may be worth encouraging them to set up their own account and download the app if they’d like a bit more independence.

One important note: per Disneyland Resort policy, guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 14 years old to enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. If the guest in question is a minor, be sure they’re with another guest who meets this requirement so they can enjoy the parks safely.

Here’s a Q-Tip for your crew: take full advantage of those first few hours after the parks open. Mornings often mean lower wait times, especially for high-demand attractions like Space Mountain or Indiana Jones Adventure. Later in the day, Lightning Lane Multi Pass becomes your best friend for skipping the standby lines and keeping the momentum going!

Rogerio, I hope this information helps you support your guest’s magical adventure. If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by planDisney again. We’re always happy to help!

Wishing you a smooth and spectacular visit,

    David
