Hi Disney Panel, We are visiting the park for the first time in July. We are not staying on the property and I was just wondering how early should we arrive at the park so that we can be at the gates when they first open? Thanks!

Mary,

I would try to arrive at the park at around 45 minutes prior to the published park opening time. You will need time to get parked, then use the transportation to get from the parking area to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and then from to the entry pavilion of the Magic Kingdom via boat or monorail.

Typically the characters from Main Street, U.S.A., will start to appear at around 12 minutes before park opening, and the show starts at 10 minutes before park opening. The show runs exactly 10 minutes, so you will get entry right at the park opening time.

Now if you were coming at a slower time of the year, 30 minutes would probably be enough time. But in July do make sure you are parking at that 45 minutes out time frame.

FYI, the Magic Kingdom rope drop show is a Must Do! for my family on every trip! We love it, and you will too!
