Hello Disney Panel!! We are so looking forward to our first ever cruise on April 26th aboard the Dream. Any safety recommendations for when we dock in the Bahamas? Should we carry cash or traveler's checks or just use our credit cards?

    Hello Jennifer!

I love your enthusiasm for your upcoming cruise on the majestic Disney Dream!  The Dream is an amazing ship, and you will love everything about her!  I have a feeling you may not want to disembark and might even start planning another magical voyage before heading home!

I have been to Nassau many times and never felt unsafe while ashore.  I have carried both cash and credit cards for purchases on the island without any problems.  There will be locals around the pier area that will ask to take you on a tour, braid your hair, or sell homemade items.  Unless you are interested, just continue to walk ahead and they will leave you alone.

Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel with your cruise question!  I hope you will let me know if you think of anything else before you set sail on your Bahamian adventure!

Have a magical time at sea!
