Will Disney be offering tickets for the VIP dessert and fireworks party once the fireworks at Magic Kingdom resume? Also, do we still need to wait 60 before we arrive to book all dining reservations?

    Hi Erica!
Thank you for coming to planDisney with your questions!

I am a HUGE fan of the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace at Disney’s Magic Kingdom! Between the adorable and delicious desserts to the fantastic view of the fireworks, it can’t be beat!

As of right now, we don’t know an official return date of this awesome experience. What I DO know is that the VIP Fireworks viewing area is up and running. We had a group that did a VIP tour on July 4th, and we ended with Happily Ever After in the VIP area. Our guide told us that was the dessert party VIP area as well, which kind of tells me it is on its way back. Be sure to watch the Disney Parks Blog for an announcement.

As far as dining reservations, the current planning window opens at the 60-day mark, at 6am EST. (Man, that’s early for us non-eastern time zone Disney planners!) I did have good luck on my recent trip finding dining reservations either the day before or the day-of, but I am also not super picky! I was actually able to join the virtual line for Skipper Canteen while in Magic Kingdom, and only had a 50-minute wait! If you’ve not tried the Orinoco Ida’s Cachapas there, I HIGHLY recommend them!

We also had good luck getting into Olivia’s Café for both breakfast and dinner. This is a hidden gem, located at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. It is one of my absolute FAVORITES!

We’d love to answer more vacation planning questions for you as they arise.

    Happy Planning,
    Tracy
