We will be at Disney in October of 2012 for our sons 4th birthday. We would love to do a character dinner for him on his birthday. We also have other family members may not stay on disney property. Are they able to buy tickets for the character dinner?

    Hi Rich,

Walt Disney World is a wonderful place to spend a birthday. A character meal is the perfect celebration for a 4-year-old.

Anyone is welcome to dine at any DIsney restaurant regardless of where they are staying. You don't have be staying at a Disney resort to enjoy a character meal. When you make your reservation, make it for the total number of people in your group, both those staying on-site and those staying off-site. This way you'll all be able to sit together.

If you are dining at a character meal at a resort (Chef Mickey's, for example), then you don't need any sort of admission ticket. If you are dining at a character meal in one of the theme parks (Crystal Palace, for example), all members of your party will need to use a theme park ticket to get to the restaurant.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
