We are going to Disney next Spring and I am planning to buy the Sorcerer Pass for me and my husband, DVC members. I want to buy my daughter who lives with us, a sorcerer pass too. If she goes in the Fall without us, can she use her pass to enter the park?

    Welcome Home, Valerie!

A Walt Disney World Annual Pass can be a good value, especially for Disney Vacation Club Members who will be visiting on more than one occasion during the year. I also take advantage of the Disney Vacation Club Member discount. It’s always fun to tell folks that even though I live in Indiana, I am a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!

The Disney Vacation Club Member discount on Walt Disney World Annual Passes is valid for the Member and immediate family members who live with them. Since your daughter lives with you, she would be eligible for a discounted Annual Pass as well! There are a few additional things to consider, Valerie, so let’s talk about those. First, know that while you can purchase your Annual Passes before arrival, you are essentially purchasing a certificate or voucher to redeem for the actual Annual Pass. You will need to activate all Annual Passes in person, at a ticket booth, or Guest Relations outside a theme park or at Disney Springs. All adults in the party would need to be present and show a photo ID with an address that matches yours, and the Member must be present at the time of activation. Once the Annual Pass is activated, the Member no longer needs to be with the family member for the family member to use their Annual Pass.

So this means that if your daughter is an adult, and will be going with you in the spring, you could activate her Annual Pass at that time. If she is a minor, you could also activate her Annual Pass without her being present. Then she would be able to visit without you in the autumn and use her Annual Pass! On the other hand, if she is an adult, and not going with you in the spring, there would not be a way to activate the discounted Annual Pass without you in the fall, and so that would not work. Or maybe this is just the perfect excuse, Valerie, to book a trip in the fall for yourself too!

I hope this helps to answer your question, Valerie. And if you have any additional questions either about your Membership or your Annual Pass, feel free to send them my way!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
