Hi Disney Mom, I am travelling with my family to WDW from the UK arriving Dec 14th throught Dec 26th. Can you give me an idea of when the Holiday crowds are likely to swell and clothing packing tips as I an not sure what weather to expect. Many thanks Sue

The first few days of your trip should be fairly calm. However, most US schools will begin their holiday break on December 19 and you will likely see a HUGE influx of people on the 19-21. Those crowds will not dissipate until after the new year.

The average daytime temperature at WDW during late December is in the low 70s (F) and the average nighttime low temperature is in the mid 50s (F). I would definitely bring a swimsuit, as all the pools at WDW are heated year round. You'll want to bring comfortable shoes, because there is always LOTS of walking at WDW. For regular park touring, casual clothing is the norm. I would bring clothes that you can layer. For example, I would start the day off with a short-sleeved t-shirts, under a long-sleeved shirt, under a light jacket or sweatshirt. You'll be comfortable wearing this in the cool morning, and will be able to peel off the layers as the day warms up. I would also be sure to check a website such as weather.com for a local ten-day forecast right before you depart for your trip to see if there will be any major departure from the temperature averages. Also, if you're planning on eating at one of Disney's signature restaurants that have a dress code, you'll want to bring a more polished outfit for that meal.
