disney very merry christmas?? it is an expensive ticket for a family of four..is it worthwhile??? have girls 11,9 can you only b in the park with special ticket?? how does it work is it worth it???? thx

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a hard ticketed special event, meaning you must purchase an event ticket separate from your Magic Your Way tickets, and you can only be in the park for the party if you do so. Guests who have purchased tickets are issued a wristband to identify them, and those who haven't are required to leave.

Whether it's 'worth it' is a little harder to answer, as everyone's opinion varies. If it will be a big strain on your budget, then I would say no, don't go. There are beautiful holiday decorations all over Disney property, and you could save some serious cash by skipping the party and visiting those in the deluxe resorts for free.

If you comfortably have the money to spend, I think you would really enjoy the party. The park is beautiful decorated for Christmas, and there are special parades and fireworks shows that can only be seen when you attend. Cookies and hot cocoa are passed out to enjoy along main street, while snow falls softly overhead. A rare opportunity to see snow in Florida! There are also lots of great photo opportunities, and often reduced wait times for rides and attractions because there are fewer people in the park.

In short, it's a great experience, but if you could only do one holiday event in Disney, it's not the one I would choose (Candlelight Processional in Epcot).

    Hope that helps!
