We are going to Disney May 2022 and have Magic Bands from May 2019, can this bands still be used?

Hi Barry! Thanks for popping by to see us here at planDisney!

With your trip to Walt Disney World Resort on the horizon, it's time to start planning out those little details like which pair of shoes are the most comfortable, which color MagicBand matches the most outfits and how many DOLE Whips should you plan to snack on each day!? Sometimes planning for a Disney trip is just as exciting as leaving for one!

Since you and your family have been to the Resort before, I'm sure I don't have to tell you about the incredible Resorts, magical character sightings and immersive theming in the Parks. However, many things have changed since your last visit and since it is Walt Disney World Resort's 50th Anniversary, you'll find new, EARidescent magic around every corner.

I love to keep my MagicBands from past trips as a souvenir.  It's fun to think back to the memories we made during each trip and get excited about what we're going to see, do and eat on our next visit!  Barry, you'll be happy to know that you and your family will be able to use your MagicBands from 2019 as long as they still have battery life.  In the "My Profile" section of your My Disney Experience account you can see which bands are still active and even remove those that you no longer have or use.  MagicBands are known to work for at least two years, though many work longer.

If you run into an issue with your old MagicBands you still have many options! First, you can plan to purchase a new MagicBand on shopDisney.com, through your My Disney Experience account, or on property in many stores when you arrive. Second, if you have a compatible mobile device you can access your Theme Park tickets on your phone using the Disney MagicMobile Service. Finally, you can always head to the Front Desk of your Resort or any Guest Relations location to get a Key to the World Card that can be used just like your MagicBand.

I hope this information was helpful, Barry!  Please stop by and visit us again if you have any other questions and enjoy your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World Resort!

As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
