Welcome to planDisney, Diane! Did someone say after-hours events? You're speaking my language! Let's get you to the right place so you can enjoy an extra dose of
Walt Disney World Resort magic.
So, I'm not a morning person, Diane. Some might even call me a night owl. That's why the after-hours events at the Theme Parks are right up my alley. Whether it's one of the holiday parties like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or
Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom, you can find me enjoying short wait times for attractions, indulging in the delicious complimentary snacks, and soaking in the atmosphere. I'm glad you're on the same page!
Diane, you do not need to make a Theme Park Reservation for the after-hours events. You simply need to choose your date and
purchase your tickets on the Walt Disney World Website. Your ticket should appear on your
My Disney Experience Mobile App, so that's all you'll need to enter Magic Kingdom Park. If you plan to spend the day at Magic Kingdom Park, or any of the four Theme Parks, you will need to purchase a separate theme park ticket and make a
Theme Park Reservation. But your ticket to the after-hours event is all you'll need for admission to the event.
Here's a tip for you: Although the event doesn't officially begin until 10:00 PM on most nights, you can enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 7:00 PM. You'll be in the park with regular guests, but at 10:00 PM the event will begin and the crowds will thin out quickly.
I have one more piece of advice. It's been my experience that those three hours go by quickly. I would prioritize my must-do activities in order to make the most of that time. There can still be wait times, but they are significantly shorter than during the regular park day, but it does add up. No need to hurry or be stressed, but keep in mind that time flies when you're in the magic!
Diane, I hope you have a wonderful experience at Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom! From one night owl to another, I hope it's a HOOT!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
