We are going to Disney the last week of Sept. We would like to dine at Whispering Canyon. We have tried to make reservations for dinner, but without success. I know it says reservations are highly recommended. Is it unwise to go without reservations?

Hi, Kristie!  I'm not going to tell you it's unwise to turn up without reservations, because there is always a chance that you will find an open table, thanks to a no-show who had a reservation.  I would just caution you to have a back-up plan in place in the event that they are unable to accommodate your party.  If something is available, you may have to wait, but they are always very quick to tell you if they don't think a table will open up.

The best thing to do is to keep calling.  Check every day or every other day to see if there are any cancellations.  It can be frustrating, I know, but that's the best way to luck into a table.  With the free dining promotion being offered at the end of September, it will be difficult to get dining reservations for many of the restaurants, but keep trying!

I'm sending you some pixie dust wishes that the reservation comes through for you!
