Hiya Heather,
It is so great to have you back at planDisney, and a huge thank you to your husband for his service, but also to the whole family for the sacrifice you all make during his active duty! Oh boy! You have hit the trifecta for reasons to celebrate. Time spent with your husband, a birthday celebration and visiting
Walt Disney World Resort during the best time of the year equals one amazing and memorable trip! Not only will you get to experience
The World's Most Magical Celebration, the theme parks and resorts will be all decked out in their holiday best and there will be so many things to see and do. High on my list of recommendations is
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This special ticket event, on select nights at
Magic Kingdom, will have you "Rockin' around the Christmas tree" all night long.
I love that you all will be celebrating your husband's birthday during your visit. We have celebrated many of our boy's birthdays alongside Mickey Mouse and all his pals. The first thing you will want to do is make sure you are indicating the birthday celebration on any
advance Disney dining reservation. This includes the reservation you make at
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. You can also
pre-order a specialty cake at most restaurants, including the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. No promises, but I may hear a lively round of "Happy Birthday to you" coming across the Fort Wilderness grounds. You can also preorder Disney character inspired scrumptious delights at
Amorette's Patisserie at Disney Springs. Yummy!
Next, upon your arrival, be sure to ask for a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button for your Prince Charming. Make sure he knows it is his "mission" to wear that button all the time. If he succeeds, he may be shocked at the number of wishes and birthday magic that comes his way. A great way to commemorate this trip and his special day is with a
Capture Your Moment photo shoot. Reservations are available at all four theme parks, although I have to admit, Magic Kingdom would get my vote for this special trip.
When you check in at any table service location, remember to mention that it is his birthday. The Cast Members love to help birthdays boys and girls celebrate their big day. Lastly, every day at 5:00pm EST, Magic Kingdom honors our military men and women during the retirement of the flag. It is wonderful and touching tribute that I highly recommend. In addition, there is always a guest of honor that is selected to participate in the flag retreat. Recently, the Cast Members were not taking volunteers but it never hurts to stop in City Hall and ask if they are looking for a member of the military to join in the ceremony.
I hope some of these ideas help create the most memorable birthday he has ever had. If you have any additional planning questions, I would love for you to
stop back and see me.
With pixie dust,
Margaret
