Hey Kylene! I am so glad you stopped by planDisney to ask your Walt Disney World vacation planning question! I see that you are arriving next month, which is super exciting! This is my favorite time of year to visit, I love all the holiday decorations, especially the vintage decorations all around Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I remember my grandma having the ceramic poodle figurines that you can see (giant sized) near
Hollywood & Vine.
One of my favorite vacation budgeting tips is to purchase Disney Gift Cards for months leading up to your trip. I try to purchase mine from a local store where I get a slight discount on them, because every dollar saved helps! I then head to the
Disney Gift Card website to combine the smaller cards onto a couple of cards with larger amounts (the limit for any Disney Gift Card is $1000).
Then, when I am on my vacation, I use those gift cards for all my purchases. From table service meals to souvenirs to snacks, I have never had trouble using a Disney Gift Card to pay. I do carry cash for tipping my servers. My son visited Savi’s Workshop in October and I was able to pay for his light saber with a Disney Gift Card there, too.
One of the features on the MyDisneyExperience mobile app is the ability to mobile order food from a quick service location and use a Disney Gift Card to pay. The app doesn’t remember the number, so you will need to put the number in each time you are paying.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. When you are exploring EPCOT’s World Showcase, place a mobile order for the Werther’s Original Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich from
Karamell-Kuche, I promise you will thank me later.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
