Hi there, Brianna! Welcome to planDisney!
Purchasing
Disney Gift Cards is a great way to set aside some spending money and budget for your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I'm happy to tell you that
Disney Gift Cards can be used for almost anything Disney-related.
When visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you can use Disney Gift Cards to purchase your
theme park tickets, to buy souvenirs at
merchandise shops, and when enjoying a meal at one of the numerous
dining locations throughout the resort. While you'll need to have a credit card on file if you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you can stop by the front desk to have a Cast Member use your Disney Gift Cards to pay off your hotel folio balance.
Occasionally you might find a small vendor cart in the theme parks that cannot accept Disney Gift Cards. Also, while you can use your Disney Gift Cards at most locations in
Disney Springs, you may find a few non Disney owned establishments that do not accept them. I recommend having a backup form of payment for these rare instances, however, you will be able to use Disney Gift Cards for the vast majority of your purchases at Walt Disney World Resort.
I'm not sure if you'll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort with kids, but if you are, Disney Gift Cards are a great way to set a souvenir budget for your young Mouseketeers. My family usually starts a 30-day trip countdown before all of our Disney vacations. When we kick off our countdown, I give each of my kids their own Disney Gift Card. They know that this is their souvenir budget for our trip, and they can spend it however they choose.
Brianna, if you have any other questions as you get ready for your trip, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow
planDisney panelists and I are all ears! See ya real soon!
