Hello, Patricia, and welcome to planDisney! You came to the right place because my fellow panelists and I love helping guests create their perfect fairytale vacations!
Now, since you're hoping to visit next month, let's dive right into some suggestions. First, October is a popular time of year to visit, so I encourage you to book your package as soon as possible. You can do this quickly and easily by first
creating a (free) My Disney Experience account. Through this account, you can manage your hotel room reservations, tickets, dining reservations, and more. Next, you'll need to decide where to stay. It's possible that you'll find some limited availability over that long weekend as many guests choose to travel when school breaks happen, but here are a few suggestions of resorts that my boys loved at age 4. There are value, moderate, and deluxe resorts to choose from, so I'll offer up a mix!
If staying within a budget is your first priority,
Disney's All-Star Movies would be my choice. If you're looking for a combination of budget-friendly with a few extra conveniences, I would pick
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. You'll have access to the
Disney Skyliner which means a quick ride to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. In the moderate category, I love
Disney's Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter. It's a small property that is easy to navigate, has an adorable pool slide that my kids loved, and boasts delicious beignets that are perfect for breakfast or a snack! In the deluxe resort category, I would encourage you to check out
Disney's Contemporary Resort. One of the original resorts to open in 1971, this offers the quickest way to Magic Kingdom Park (my favorite park for preschoolers). No matter where you choose to stay, transportation to the parks is complimentary and you'll have
additional perks like early entry.
Once you select a resort, you can add on the purchase tickets so that your vacation is bundled together in a package. Depending on your grandson's interests, all parks will hold an appeal, but some more than others. I would definitely plan on a day at
Magic Kingdom Park with so many attractions perfect for the littlest Mouseketeers. If your grandson loves the Toy Story movies, Disney's Hollywood Studios is the place to be! If he's an animal lover, don't miss Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. EPCOT is perfect for those who love to experience different cultures and the seas! Take a few minutes to
check out what the other parks have to offer before deciding how many parks you'd like to visit.
Once you have your package booked,
please come on back with some additional questions. We can give some suggestions for your daily itinerary or favorite places to eat. I'll also encourage you to check out the
planDisney Panel Extras section. You'll find a series of posts and articles perfect for trip planning!
I hope to see you again here at planDisney, Patricia as you continue planning your perfect visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
