Can you use Disney Gift Cards on a Disney Cruise?

Welcome back, Tabby! The answer is "Yes!" Disney Gift Cards are a great way to help save and budget for your upcoming Disney Cruise.

My family likes to purchase one every week or so before setting sail. This helps spread out the costs so it doesn't feel like so much all at once. In fact, we even save money by doing this because we purchase them at our local grocery store that offers double or even triple fuel rewards on gift card purchases. We always need to put gas in the car, so we save on that cost, while saving for our trip at the same time!

If you'd like to pay for part or all of your cruise with Disney Gift Cards, you can do this by calling Disney Cruise Line and making a payment with one or a few cards every now and then. Onboard the ship, if you'd like to put gift cards toward your purchases of Port Adventures, Adult Exclusive Dining or anything else, simply take your gift cards to Guest Services. They will add those as credits onto your stateroom account.

I like to do this at the beginning of the cruise so I know the credits are there. If I find, come the end of the sailing, that I haven't spent as much as I have credited, I simply take my bill down to Guest Services and they are happy to credit back my gift card. Be sure to save those gift cards used onboard until the end of the cruise, as you don't always know which card they will credit until that last day.

Disney Gift Cards are also accepted in the gift shops onboard. However, everything else onboard must be paid for with your Key to the World card, which goes onto your stateroom account. Usually, we just use our Key to the World Card, even in the gift shops, as we turn our gift cards into Guest Services to add to our account, as it just simplifies things for us.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan, Tabby! I'm happy to help with other questions if you come up with any before you set sail!
