are disney gift cards allowed for payment for food in WDW given the current COVID restrictions?

Welcome to planDisney, Lynne!  We are glad you brought your question to us as you prepare for "Returning to a World of Magic".

During the reopening period of Walt Disney World Resort, numerous health and safety measures have been implemented.  Among them, Guests are encouraged to use cashless payment options, such as credit or debit cards and Disney Gift Cards.  Contactless payments with a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay are also available, and Guests who are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel may use their MagicBands to charge purchases to their room folio.

For even more convenience, Disney Gift Cards are now available as a payment method when using Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering.  You'll see the option to  "Add a Card" and enter a Disney Gift Card number on the Order Summary screen.

I hope that helps!  Please stop by planDisney again with any additional questions you may have.  Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
