Hello, Carolina! I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney with this "rich" question. I'm a fellow Floridian and Annual Passholder, so I'm thrilled to chat with you today. Since you arrive soon for your
Walt Disney World Resort visit, let's look at ways to secure your ticket to year-round magic. Cha-ching!
I chatted with a helpful Cast Member who said that since only one form of payment can be used online, you probably won't be able to use a
Disney Gift Card to pay the down payment for an Annual Pass on the website. Since the card you use for the down payment will also be used for the recurring monthly installments, it must be a valid credit or debit card. But I have some other ideas!
If you want to pay for your pass in full, you should be able to use a Disney Gift Card online, over the phone, or in person. My tip is to combine smaller cards to get enough for that single card transaction if you purchase online.
In this fabulous answer, my pal Lauren discusses merging your gift cards to make paying seamless.
My final suggestion is to
call the Annual Passholders line for help setting up your pass. They can see your account details and might offer ideas on using your gift card. I'm sending pixie dust and shiny pennies your way!
Since Disney Gift Cards are accepted at most dining and merchandise locations, I never have a problem spending mine. Did you know you can use gift cards for
mobile food orders? I have my gift card number typed in a note on my phone so I can easily copy and paste it during mobile checkout. It barely feels like I'm spending money; it's Disney math!
Carolina, I hope I've given you some options to secure that Annual Pass. I'd love to be the first to welcome you to this practically perfect
passholder family. Thanks again for stopping by
planDisney!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
