Can I use a Disney gift card at restaurants and kiosks at Disney ? Can someone purchase one for us as a gift ?

Hi there, Kristen! Welcome to planDisney. We're happy you're here!

I'm so excited to hear that you're making magical plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort! With so much to see and do, you're sure to have an extra special visit. Like you, I love to bring along a few Disney Gift Cards on my trips! Not only can they be used for food and snacks, but any leftover funds can be used to purchase a special souvenir or two to bring home. I love this idea for you!

With that being said, I'm happy to tell you – yes! Disney Gift Cards can be used at nearly all locations at Walt Disney World Resort, including Disney Resorts Collection hotels, merchandise locations, restaurants, snack carts, and more. The only places where Disney Gift Cards are not accepted are locations that are not Disney-owned or operated, but those are very rare (usually found at Disney Springs). Additionally, you are welcome to accept Disney Gift Cards as a gift and use them during your trip. If you have questions about specific locations, please write back to us so we can help you further!

When using Disney Gift Cards, I have a few suggestions for you! First, I think it's a great idea to add your cards to your account on the Disney Gift Card website. Here, you'll be able to access and manage up to six Disney Gift Cards at a time. You can check the balance, transfer funds, and view transactions. However, it's important to know that this is not a mobile wallet, so you'll want to make sure you hold on to that physical gift card, too! Additionally, I like to keep a note on my phone with the Disney Gift Card numbers on it. When placing a mobile order for food or using Merchandise Mobile Checkout on the My Disney Experience app, you can easily copy and paste your Disney Gift Card number when checking out instead of manually typing it in.

With that being said, take a little time to download and explore the My Disney Experience app before you arrive! Not only can you place mobile orders for food and snacks, but you can check wait times for attractions, view park maps, and access virtual queues. It feels a little like holding a magic wand in your hand!

I'm wishing upon a star that you have the BEST DAY EVER on your magical vacation, Kristen! If you have any other questions, please write to us again. We're always happy to help!

You've got a friend in me,
