Jambo, Jonathan.
Howdy from down here in Texas, neighbor! I’m so glad you followed the second star to the right straight on to planDisney today and would be more than happy to answer your question.
Yes, Jonathan, you can use
Disney Gift Cards you purchase at retail stores while on your vacation, and Disney Gift Cards are accepted at most locations on
Walt Disney World Resort property. I wish I had a comprehensive list of all the locations that do to share with you, but there isn’t one available. Just know that you will definitely be able to use Disney Gift Cards to purchase snacks, drinks, souvenirs, meals at restaurants, and more on your vacation. You can even use them to pay off the balance of your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation. Disney Gift Cards are the only form of payment my family uses on our trips back “home” to The Most Magical Place on Earth, so I’d like to share a few tips with you based on our experiences.
- You can buy packs of preloaded Disney Gift Cards at various nationwide warehouse membership stores at a discounted rate ahead of your trip. It’s a great way to save a little extra so you can stay within your budget.
- shopDisney has an assortment of Disney Gift Cards you can order ahead of your trip. They feature cute designs and all of your favorite Disney characters.
- Set up an account on the Disney Gift Card website. It allows you to store the details of up to six gift cards for safekeeping. If you happen to lose one of your stored gift cards during your trip, you can easily transfer the balance of the lost card onto a different stored gift card within the site.
- You can use a Disney Gift Card to pay for your meal when placing a Mobile Food & Beverage Order in your My Disney Experience Mobile App.
- Purchase one of the special Disney Gift Cards at the EPCOT Festival that's taking place during your trip. They have an attached wrist band, which makes them easy to use and less likely to lose. Plus, it serves as a fun memento of your trip.
Jonathan, even though Disney Gift Cards are widely accepted at Walt Disney World Resort, it may be wise to bring a major credit card with you just in case you happen upon a location that does not accept Disney Gift Cards as a form of payment. I hope this information helps, but please stop back by
planDisney with further questions.
Have a magical trip,
Alyssa
