Sally,
Absolutely, you can use a Disney gift card to purchase food, snacks, or souvenirs in the parks at Walt Disney World. Even at stands.
Just a few weeks ago I did EXACTLY that. I mean,
Cheeseburger Spring Rolls? Like I am going to just pass by those and not try them.
Hardly! Of course, popcorn, a personal favorite as well, is another example of where you can use your Disney gift card.
BONUS TIP #1
Did you know that there is always a popcorn cart just as you enter the
Magic Kingdom? When you enter the park, it is like you are entering a movie, complete with the "opening credits" on the windows of Main Street, U.S.A. reminding us of the people who created this amazing adventure. When you enter a movie theater, what better reminder of where you are than that intoxicating aroma of freshly popped popcorn?
BONUS TIP #2
As it happens, Disney will accept most common varieties of gift cards, even ones not from Disney. I use them frequently.
BONUS TIP #3
Gift cards are a great item for kids to list on birthday or Christmas wish lists. My teenagers have a hard time finding gift idea suggestions for relatives that are reasonably priced, so this gives the gift buyers a lot of flexibility. And my teens get some 'mad money' for souvenirs and treats!
