I would like to use my Disney gift card to pay the balance on my upcoming reservation at Ft Wilderness. I do not see a way to add it to payment methods. It only allows a credit card.

Welcome to planDisney, Suzanne, and thank you for this great question. You'll arrive at Walt Disney World Resort in a flash, so let's see your options for paying your balance at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. We want you to have a rootin'-tootin' good time!

I assume you'd like to pay off your room-only balance since vacation packages must be paid in full 30 days before arrival. With a room-only balance, you typically can't make payments online or in the Mobile App, so you will pay that balance at check-in or by calling Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. I spoke to a wild-west Cast Member who said you should be able to pay your balance with a Disney Gift Card at check-in or over the phone.

The Cast Member also said you couldn't link a Disney Gift Card to your My Disney Experience account for incidentals and charges during your stay. You will only see the option to add a credit card or debit card.

Disney Gift Cards are also a great way to help you stay on a budget while at Walt Disney World Resort. Each family member could have a pre-loaded amount on a gift card to spend each day for meals and merchandise. When my son was younger, I'd add a little extra for his souvenir shopping so there was no haggling over what he could or couldn't buy. He was much more selective that way!

Suzanne, I'm sending pixie dust and marshmallows, so your stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness is a yee-haw of a good time. Please stop by planDisney anytime! I'll save you a spot at Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
