Hi Monica! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
On my most recent trip to Disneyland Resort, we used a few
Disney Gift Cards to pay for most of our food, beverages, and merchandise. It's super convenient! And since Disney Gift Cards expire, you don't have to worry about any value left on the card disappearing. You can also currently apply a Disney Gift Card toward the purchase of admission tickets, a Disneyland Resort Hotel stay, on shopDisney, and more! So, I'm happy to help you make the most of your card in the parks.
You can absolutely use your Disney Gift Card in the
Disneyland mobile app. You can input the card's number during the transaction, whether you're
mobile ordering or paying for Disney's Genie+ Service for the day or an Individual Lightning Lane. We exclusively used our gift card in those mobile transactions. You can't save the Disney Gift Card as a payment method, but never fear! I've got a tip for solving this minor issue: save the number in your Notes app and copy and paste the number into the app during checkout. That way, you won't have to type the number into the app manually.
One additional trick we used with our Disney Gift card by Email: open the email, screenshot the card, and share the image amongst group members via text who you want to authorize to use the card. Saving the image to Favorites makes it easier to locate among all the pictures you'll take throughout the day. Although the card came to my e-mail, I wanted my husband or our teen family member to be able to pay for a quick meal or the new plush friend while I was refilling water bottles or getting my kids set up at a table. The Cast Member at checkout should be able to scan the image. It's easier than printing out and keeping track of multiple hard copies. Just remember to be mindful of how much is left on the card amongst your group.
Have a magical time!
Elizabeth
