Hiya, Derrisa, and welcome to planDisney! You have a
Walt Disney World Resort visit coming up soon, so let's get down to business to see how you can secure a magical, memorable
character dining experience.
There are currently only a couple of dining experiences that require payment at the time of booking:
Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park and
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
You will be asked to pay in full at the time of booking these two experiences, and I checked with a hungry Cast Member who said you can pay for either of these experiences with a
Disney Gift Card by calling Disney Dining at (407) 939-7887. He said you wouldn't have the option to pay with a gift card online; only credit cards are accepted as payment on the website.
For other Character Meals at the Theme Parks and
Disney Resort Hotels, you can make reservations by linking a valid credit card to the confirmation. The credit card will only be charged if a guest is a no-show.
The good news is that after you dine at the restaurant, you can pay for your meal using a Disney Gift Card at most locations. My tip is to ask the hostess when you check in so you'll know your payment options.
My family's favorite Disney dining experience is at
Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The food is exotic and delicious, but the characters in their safari finest are the main attraction! When Donald Duck is there, he quacks us up!
Thanks again for this great question, Derrisa. I hope I've given you some options for using your Disney Gift Cards on your upcoming visit. Please
stop by planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
