Hi Kim, and welcome back to planDisney! The
Disneyland mobile app is such a helpful tool, from scanning into the theme parks to
mobile food ordering. And you can even use it to summon your own personal Genie to help with planning your day at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Before you start, make sure you have a theme park ticket linked to your MyDisney account and a
park reservation. Then open the app, scroll down to Upcoming Plans, and press the Get Started Now button (if you didn’t book your park reservation yet, this might look a little different and say Complimentary Planning with a Plan My Day button instead).
On the next few screens, Genie will gather more information on the date and theme park you’re visiting, the people you’re visiting with, and attractions, dining, and Enchanted Extras you’d like to prioritize. You’ll also have the chance to share any other interests, like experiences for little ones, Disney Princesses, seasonal offerings, live entertainment, and types of dining. Genie will use this information to create a customized plan for your magical day!
Once you’re done with setup, you can access Genie’s plan by going to ☰ in the lower right corner of the app, selecting Today’s Plans under My Visit, and then making sure you’re on the My Day section of the next screen (you can toggle between Tip Board and My Day at the top).
Before your visit, Genie will prompt you to book any dining reservations or Enchanting Extras you expressed interest in. At 7:00 a.m. on your Disney day, this screen will populate with a more robust schedule. It’ll include any
Lightning Lane selections and
dining reservations you’ve made, as well as recommendations for when to ride certain attractions (based on when wait times are forecasted to be lower) and other experiences Genie thinks you might like.
When you’re setting up your Disney day, be sure to check off Seasonal Offerings since
Halloween Time and
Plaza de la Familia festivities will be going on during your visit! I love seeing all of the pumpkin decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. and the cute Halloween overlays throughout Cars Land in Disney California Adventure (you might even run into our favorite Cars characters dressed in Halloween costumes!), riding
Haunted Mansion Holiday, and watching the
Halloween Screams nighttime spectacular.
I’m wishing you a magical and BOO-tiful visit to Disneyland in September! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
