Ahoy, Tracy!
Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are thinking about embarking on a magical voyage with Disney Cruise Line. I know there's a lot to consider when planning to set sail with Captains Mickey and Minnie, so we are glad you are here for some help.
A four-night cruise from
Fort Lauderdale is a great choice if this will be your first high-seas adventure. While Disney Cruise Line always recommends Guests travel with a valid passport, an original or state-issued certified copy of your birth certificate, along with a valid government-issued photo ID for Guests 16 and over, is also accepted. Having your birth certificate and photo ID is permitted since the cruise you are considering is closed-loop, meaning it begins and ends in the same U.S. port. My best advice is to read the
travel documentation information on the Disney Cruise Line website to familiarize yourself with the benefits of traveling with a valid passport, so you can make the best decision for your upcoming travel.
Tracy, while you are checking out the
Disney Cruise Line website, be sure to dive into
all that's included in your cruise fare and start thinking about what extras you may want to plan for, like a
Senses Spa visit,
adventures ashore, or a beverage seminar. To help me budget for my sailings, I like to purchase Disney Gift Cards each week as I count down to embarkation day. You can add these to your
onboard account before you set sail or
use them onboard. It's a great way to save a little each week.
Thank you for sending in your question, Tracy! Please feel free to reach out again if you have any additional questions. Happy planning!
