Hi Mary Jane!
I can definitely relate to your concern about taking a conference call at Walt Disney World! I have had to do this many times over the years and it is always challenging to balance work with family and vacation.
At select
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, there are
business centers where you can have a quiet space to take a phone call, connect your laptop, print, fax, photocopy, and much more. These are great places to take a conference call, as they are quiet and offer space for you to set up your workstation. At the current time, you can find business centers at
Disney's Beach and
Yacht Club Resorts,
Coronado Springs, and
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
If you will be at
Disney's Magic Kingdom during the time of your conference call, this will be a little more challenging, but don't despair! I have a few tricks up my sleeve that worked before! Tomorrowland Terrace offers an expansive dining area under shade. There is a ton of space set apart from the hustle and bustle of the parks, making it a perfect place to take a call. Another option is to take a short walk over to
Disney's Contemporary Resort. Even though this is outside of Disney's Magic Kingdom, it is only a short walk away and you can re-enter the park after the call. The resort has plenty of quiet spaces to take a call. My favorite space here is on the third floor because there are couches and chairs down the hallway and this floor is usually less crowded.
If you don't have to speak on the call, you can always grab a bench in one of the quieter areas of the park so you can listen. If you have to speak or present, you may want to use one of the options I outlined above.
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
