I am going to Disney for my first time next week, only going for one day and haven't bought my ticket yet. How do i make a reservation for each park when I'm buying the one-day park hopper pass?

    Welcome to planDisney, Rose!

I'm thrilled to hear about your upcoming visit and ready to assist. A guest's first visit is a big deal, and while it might seem overwhelming, a few simple steps will set you up for success. Let's get to it!

Purchasing a 1-Day ticket will require you to select your start date on the calendar and your park of choice. Pricing is specific to the park selected; however, if you decide to upgrade your 1 Park Per Day Ticket to include the Park Hopper Option, you'll pay the same price regardless of which park you decide to start your day. Date-based tickets do not require theme park reservations, so once you complete your purchase, ensure your ticket is linked to your My Disney Experience app, and choose your method of entry, you'll be all set to enjoy the parks on your schedule.

I often recommend park hopping for short visits, as it will allow you to enjoy a little bit of everything (check out my go-to 4 parks in one day itinerary here). I do recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Single Pass if your budget allows, since it will save you valuable time in standby queues, allowing you to maximize your time in each park. If you will be staying at an eligible resort, your purchase window will open 7 days before your check-in date. If you are staying off-site, you can purchase 3 days before your ticket start date, so be sure to secure your admission as soon as possible.

You might also consider purchasing Memory Maker One Day if you plan to document your adventures with Disney PhotoPass photographers. They always know how to capture a happy smile or a magical moment, and often sprinkle a little bit of magic onto your photos. I love looking through my photo gallery to see what friends "photo bomb" my pictures. If you plan on spending time at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, there are tons of fun new magic shots available around the park. My favorites were the Dandelion Prop and the Butterflies available near Pineapple Promenade.

As you enter your first park of the day, stop by Guest Relations (or most merchandise locations) to request a complimentary "1st Visit" button, which Cast Members can personalize for you to wear proudly. You might even be surprised by some extra special pixie dust as Cast Members around the parks notice you're celebrating a magical milestone.

Rose, I hope this helps set you up for the best day ever! Please come back and see us again with any additional planning questions as you count down to your visit.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
