    I am a DIsney fanatic and Specail Ed Teacher. My kids know I love DIsney as well as their parents. Many are planing trips to WDW this summer and have asked for help. I have told them about the GAC as well as satying on property for easy access. What else?

    It sounds like you are off to a great start in helping plan vacations!

    A few other ideas for making these trips as great as possible:
    • Many autistic children or children with a fear of new things, previewing videos of different attractions before heading to Walt Disney World can be a great way to prepare. Knowing what to expect at different rides can be a lifesaver. This can also help with timid children or those with a fear of the dark (for dark rides).
    • Be sure to stress that its not possible to do EVERYTHING in a single trip. Encourage some pre-planning. Pick a couple of must do rides at each park and hit those first thing in the morning. This makes for a less stressful day since your highest priority attractions are crossed off your list early!
    • Although this goes hand-in-hand with the previous tip, encourage some resort downtime. Keep a routine as close to your home schedule as possible. Take a break in the afternoon, swim, nap or try a resort activity that takes you away from the hustle and bustle for a little while. Recharge and be ready to hit the parks again later.
    • Of course, don't forget dining. Personally, I encourage late lunch reservations as a way to enforce that afternoon break too!
