Hi Disney experts, Which is your top-rated, budget-friendly/mid-range Disney hotel with good access to the parks? This is a once in a lifetime trip for us, at huge expense, coming from Australia and the Netherlands so we greatly appreciate any advice! Thx

    Rebecca,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Disney has so many great resorts to choose from, ranging from entertaining budget hotels in their Value category, to elegant luxury hotels in their Deluxe category. Needless to say, they have many choices in between as well.

In the Moderate category there are several great options for you to choose from, each with something to offer based on what a traveling party is looking for from their magical Disney escape. Because you are looking for good access to the parks, my recommendation is to consider Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. The island theme is clearly spot on for any vacation escape. The highlight, however, is the immediate access to the Disney Skyliner. This newer transportation service gives you quick access to both EPCOT and to Disney's Hollywood Studios, which are both just minutes away. Just like with the monorail, the Skyliner ride is almost an attraction unto itself as you soar to two of the parks in comfort.

The Disney Skyliner gondola network has its crucial central station located at the Caribbean Beach resort. From that station you are only a 6-minute ride away from Hollywood Studios, and about 14 minutes from EPCOT. A perk here is that that second route also delivers you near Disney's BoardWalk, which offers another relaxed evening destination for your party. I am excited about visiting the BoardWalk soon, as a restaurant from near my home here in Indiana, the Cake Bake Shop, is opening soon. Having grown up eating all those wonderful desserts in Brussels, I can attest that it is worth a visit for anyone with a sweet tooth!

    BONUS TIP
If you want to price out a second resort option that might be a bit more affordable, and designed to host some larger parties, consider looking into Disney's Art of Animation Value category resort. It is also on the Disney Skyliner route and has some rooms that can sleep up to 6 adults.

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
