    I've been to Disney every other year since I was 6. I am now 26 and bringing my 3year old little girl who will almost be 4 when we go. For a 3.5 year old what are the MAIN things she should do??

    Charlotte,

    I really like some of the suggestions on the Disney website page titled "Little Ones at Disney Theme Parks".

    Many of the attractions they list are right on the mark for a younger child, though there are obviously more than just those that you will enjoy. I think that you will find with a little one (that is how old my oldest was on her first trip, and the younger was just shy of 3) that simply being there is part of the experience. But a few added pointers;

    • Be prepared for Character greetings to be a bust. Sometimes kids that age just are not ready for the experience. So they may love it, and that is great. But if they hate it, move on to something else.
    • Enjoy the public spaces. My kids loved watching parades and open air shows from a distance, and simply being in different themed areas. They didn't have to be in a ride car to be happy.
    • Watch for simple interaction zones. Wailing on drums in the Africa section of the Animal Kingdom, the refreshment outpost of Epcot, or other similar areas is great fun for them.
    • Plan 1 or 2 character meals. I would go with a Mickey themed one, and a princess themed one. This gives them variety, and a chance to interact in a less intimidating environment.
    • Rest every day. To make it through the trip, you have to have down time EVERY afternoon. Back at your resort is ideal, but wherever it is, make sure it happens.

    So there are a few ideas. Write me back if you have follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
