Welcome to planDisney, Brian!
I must admit, I spend
a lot of time at my two favorite theme parks,
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and
EPCOT. And my dear sons are obsessed with
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But there’s just something so special about the quintessential Walt Disney World theme park,
Magic Kingdom Park. A visit to the original Florida Disney Park makes every trip complete.
You’ll be happy to hear that as long as you have valid admission with a
Park Hopper Option and the theme park that you’re park hopping to isn’t at capacity, you can visit another theme park, including Magic Kingdom Park. This includes the weekends! The only Magic Kingdom Park admission exclusion is if you’re an Annual Passholder who wants to visit Magic Kingdom Park without a theme park reservation on a weekend. Other than that, “nothing can stop us now” from visiting the home of Cinderella Castle.
As you mentioned, yes, it is very important that you tap into the Mickey-shaped entry point for the theme park that you’ve reserved first. From there, with a ticket with Park Hopper Option, you can go to Magic Kingdom Park if it’s not at capacity. The theme parks rarely reach capacity, but if this occurs while you’re there, you’ll see a notification in the
My Disney Experience App announcing the unavailability.
I just know that you’re going to have the best time, Brian. Please revisit us here at planDisney if you have any other questions as you plan your upcoming vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
