Hi there, Amanda, and welcome back to planDisney!
I’ve recently steered away from dairy products myself (oh, how I will miss dipping a Mickey-shaped pretzel into melted cheese). But in all honesty, this change has given me a pep in my step as I explore the Disney Parks and make magical memories with my family. I am more than happy to share some of the experiences I’ve had living dairy-free in the past few months at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
First things first, the ultimate Disney snack, DOLE Whip, is dairy-free. If you’re already a fan of that tropical, cold treat, you’re still good to go during your upcoming vacation. Here are some other fan favorite dairy-free, on-the-go treats: popcorn, turkey legs, Mickey pretzels (hold the cheese), LeFou’s Brew (from Gaston’s Tavern), and Blue Milk and Green Milk (from
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). I also like to bring my own snacks from home when I want to nosh on something that I already know is dairy-free.
Now, let’s get down to business: Yes, if you scroll down to the bottom of each restaurant’s menu(s) on the Walt Disney World website or in the My Disney Experience App, you could find an allergy-friendly section. These are options that are suitable for many dietary restrictions, including dairy-free ones. There are countless dairy-free options across property and Walt Disney World is very accommodating. If there’s something that you have a question about, I recommend asking a friendly Cast Member about options that best suit your needs.
When using the
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering feature in the My Disney Experience App, you can check out a Quick-Service restaurant’s menu’s allergy-friendly options very easily. At the top of the screen, there’s a fork-in-a-triangle symbol indicating these options. Select it (give it a try, you can test it out from home!) and click “Milk Allergy-Friendly.” Although you may or may not have a milk allergy, all of the options that you see there are dairy-free.
AN EXTRA GEM: Some of my favorite dairy-free foods that I’ve had that are now my go-tos are Woody’s Lunch Box’s Plant-based Totchos, Satu’li Canteen’s create-your-own bowls, and Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen’s Falls Family Falafel. And at the moment, I am obsessed with Connections Eatery at EPCOT. There are tons of healthy and dairy-free options that still make me feel like I’m indulging—trust me on this one.
The most important part about this new journey is to peruse the menus of places that you’d like to visit and jot down a few options that you like. Even take note of the ones that possibly have dairy because you never know what magical substitutes the Cast Members can cook up—dairy-free Mickey Waffles are totally a thing. Swoon! Amanda, I hope that this gives you a few ideas going into your upcoming vacation. If you have any other Disney vacation planning questions,

Magic always,
