Nyomie,
Thanks for your question!
The 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World is certainly something that many of us are looking forward to. What is great about big events at Walt Disney World is that they rarely occur over just one weekend, meaning that more than just a select few guests can enjoy them.
At this time I am not aware of any specific festivities that have been announced related to the anniversary, except of course the long list of new attractions and themed lands that will be in place over the next year or so. But as you probably recall from the 25th anniversary, the celebration will likely go on for several months. So while you may not be there for any of the formal ceremonies on the actual anniversary date in early October, I am sure you will see a lot of activity in August and September. I would imagine that the celebration will last a full year, starting well before October 2021, and going on well into 2022.
There are so many things that I am excited about. Certainly there are more than I could list here. There are just too many. But this
post on the Disney Parks Blog gives a great summary.
For me a few of the standouts include the opening of
Space 220, the new restaurant at
EPCOT. Over at
Disney's Hollywood Studios I want to see so much more of the
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge area that has been so amazing so far, especially the
Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser. In the
Magic Kingdom I want to strap in to the
TRON Lightcycle Run. I am sure these will be just a few of the many exciting new experiences that will make for new family memories!
Write us back if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Vacation!
