Ann,
Thanks for your question! I think we are all Disney daydreaming these days.
The area of
EPCOT that you are speaking of that connects the Future World and World Showcase areas of the park is often referred to as the
Showcase Plaza. While most think of it just as the fireworks viewing area by the World Showcase waterway, this area also encompasses that southernmost arc of the Monorail tracks, as well as walkways to the Odyssey Center. It is by far my favorite place to view the evening fireworks shows like
EPCOT Forever, to be sure. Like you, I also love those nearby waterways. I can always count on seeing some birds and beautiful landscaping along the way. They offer such a tranquil place to slow down a bit on an otherwise frenetic park day.
In the other parks I find similar places that hold a special place in my Walt Disney World memory bank. The hidden grottoes of the
Oasis at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and
Tom Sawyer Island at the
Magic Kingdom Park come to mind.
One of the features of the Walt Disney World website that I love is that you can download each of the park maps. You will find the link on the individual theme park web pages, under the "
Location" header. I recommend for those Disney daydreaming times to download the park maps and not only remember your favorite venues of the parks, but plan for your next adventure!
Write us back with more great daydreaming, and we will plan our next Disney memories together!
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
