Ahoy, Shelly!
Our family is taking the 5-Night cruise on the Disney Dream this summer, too! Since the 5-Night itinerary is an unusual one, I called my good friends at Disney Cruise Line to find out your answer.
On a 5-Night cruise, there will be three cruise casual nights. This simply means no swimwear or tank tops in the main dining rooms. I have found that most women wear capris and a nice top or sundresses on these evenings. You will also experience one
Pirate Night, where your family can wear their pirate-y best (or worst) and attend the Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party. There will also be one optional dress-up night. This means, if your large group chooses to NOT dress up, that is completely fine! On the other hand, if you all decide it might be fun to get all dressed up, I bet you would get some amazing photos in the atrium that evening!
Optional dress up night is one of my favorite nights on a cruise, as the Disney characters are typically dressed up in their formalwear. On my 4-Night cruise on the Disney Dream in February, I wore an evening gown and was able to get some fantastic photos with Goofy in his tuxedo! (He is my favorite!)Our family loves any opportunity to get dressed up, so we will definitely be packing the sparkly dresses and heels and my husband's tuxedo!
If the adults in your party are planning to dine at either of the adult-exclusive restaurants, Palo or Remy, there is a stricter
dress code. I would highly recommend brunch at Palo, it is one of my MUST-DOs on every cruise.
Enjoy your double dip at Castaway Cay cruise! I hope you and your family have a wonderful time on the Disney Dream.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
