We are going on the Disney Dream cruise line this coming June 13th. Do we need advance reservations on shows, entertainments, activities, and dining? For castaway cay, will there be resrvations for bike rides, marathons and cabanas?

    Welcome aboard, Judith!

Disney Cruise Line guests do not need advanced reservations for the amazing shows they can expect on the ship. There are usually two showtimes each evening for the Broadway-style musicals, so no matter your dining time, you'll be able to see the shows.

Each day, you'll receive a Personal Navigator which will list the schedule of events and activities going on throughout the ship, so take a look at that and plan your day! No need to register for most of these events, just show up and enjoy!

As for dining, you have already been assigned either Main Dining (around 5:45) or Second seating, which is around 8:00 or 8:15. Your specifics will be confirmed once you are onboard. Since Disney Cruise Line offers the innovative Rotational Dining, you'll rotate through all three main dining restaurants throughout your cruise, and your servers will follow you, so you get to know them and they get to know your preferences throughout the sailing.

If you would like to dine at either Palo (my favorite!) or Remy, the two Adult Exclusive restaurants onboard, you will need advanced reservations. Log onto your reservation and add this under My Cruise Activities. Once onboard, you might find that a couple open times remain, but they do fill up quickly!

On Castaway Cay, if you haven't pre-booked a Port Adventure, you'll still find that bike rentals and snorkel rentals abound, so no need to worry. Just head over to the rental area on the island if you decide you'd like to ride around the island. Cabanas are most likely booked by now, as those are some of the first things to book up, but there will be plenty of seats around the beach, in the sun and the shade.

Check your Personal Navigator to see if there will be a Castaway Cay 5K Fun Run, and if so, just show up at the meeting point to receive your bib number, then enjoy the scenic run!

    Have an amazing cruise, Judith!
