Hi Jenny!
I am so glad you came to planDisney to ask your question!
Disney Dollars are currency that the Disney company printed in different denominations. Originally the denominations were $1 and $5. A few years in, the $10 bill was added, and a special edition $50 was printed in 2005, as part of Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary.
These began being sold in 1987, and were sold as recently as 2016. While they are no longer for sale, Disney Dollars are still accepted at Disney Stores throughout the United States, the
Disney Cruise Line ships, certain parts of Disney’s Castaway Cay, Disneyland Resort, and at
Walt Disney World in the following locations:
Ticketing locations
Food & Beverage Venues
Merchandise Locations
Recreation Areas
Hotel Front Desks
Guest Relations at Theme Parks & Water Parks
You might reconsider actually using your Disney Dollars. Since they are no longer sold, they are becoming more and more collectible, and some of the more rare ones sell for quite a bit on the secondary market!
Have a magical day!
Tracy
