Hi Kate!
Thanks for bringing such an "of the moment question" to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We are adjusting to
our new normal, and are excited that Guests will be back in the Magic soon! As we continue to focus on our Guests' health and safety, we have
embraced wEARing masks at all times (except when eating or swimming) to protect each other.
As an anesthesiologist, many friends and family have asked if wEARing
a mask is difficult (since I spend all day in one!). Masks can be any breathable material, need to
cover your face, and be secured by ties or ear loops. While it may take a bit of getting used to, you eventually don't notice the mask. I especially love that I have
a whole new world of accessories outside of the OR!
Kate, it sounds like you might have a chronic lung condition, and are therefore especially vulnerable during this
unprecedented time. If that is the case, I strongly recommend waiting a bit to come and visit. The CDC recommends that anyone with underlying medical conditions do their absolute best to decrease exposure. While visiting Walt Disney World Resort is magical, it might not be practically perfect in every way for you right now.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back. I hope that (eventually!) a trip to the 'World will be just what the doctor ordered!
