Howdy, Jennifer.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney! In just a few short months, you'll be on your way to The Most Magical Place on Earth where you'll get to partake in all of the
50th Anniversary Celebration festivities and one of my favorite annual events, the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Have you started counting down the days yet? I know I would be!
Just like Winnie the Pooh always has honey on the mind, I always have the
delicious food at Walt Disney World Resort on mine. My home state, Texas, may be famous for its barbecue, but I dream of the
Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich and Macaroni & Cheese at
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue every day that I'm home and not at
EPCOT. It is so good!
It sounds like you are a Disney food-loving woman after my own heart, and the
Disney Dining Plans made dining such a streamlined experience. I miss the convenience of being able to pay for my meals and snacks ahead of my magical vacations as much as the next Guest, but, unfortunately, no announcement has been made at this time as to when the Disney Dining Plans will return. I wish I had more information to share with you, but I am hopeful they will return soon. Be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and the
Walt Disney World Resort website, as I'm sure they'll be some of the first to report any news of their homecoming.
If they don't return by the time you leave for your vacation, you might consider purchasing a
Disney Gift Card in the approximate amount you think you'll spend on dining during your trip. You can then just use that gift card to pay for all of your meals and snacks. While I know it's not quite the same as having a Disney Dining Plan, it is still convenient and easy to use.
To help pass the time to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, you should check out the
Cooking Up the Magic series on the Disney Parks Blog. They feature recipes from the Disney Parks that you can try out at home. This should tide you over until you're standing in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. in June.
Jennifer, don't forget to pack an umbrella or poncho in your luggage, because Florida's weather is notoriously finicky during the summer. I don't want anything to rain on your parade, so it's best to be prepared. I hope your trip is practically perfect in every way! Enjoy every magical moment!
You are the magic,
Alyssa
